Martí Guasteví
Corno di bassetto

Born in Maó in 1977, he began his clarinet studies with his grandfather,  finishing the elementary and middle degrees at the Professional Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands in Menorca and later the Superior Degree at the Superior Conservatory of Barcelona. His teachers were José Fuxá, Juanjo Mercadal, Pascual Martínez, Tomàs Picornell and Joan Pere Gil.

He has been solo clarinet with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Ateneo de Maó, Orquesta Lírica del Orfeón Maonés and principal clarinet and director of the Banda de Música Nura.

He has completed advanced studies with professors such as Walter Seyfarth (Berliner Philarmoniker) or Josep Fuster (OBC) and has received advice from the specialist in basset horn Hubert Salmhofer (VCC). He has also studied at the Barcelona Musicians Workshop receiving classes from Víctor de Diego, Vicenç Martín, Joan Moné and Jon Robles.

He has collaborated with various groups such as the Symphony Orchestra of Barcelona and the National Orchestra of Catalonia (OBC), the Julià Carbonell Symphony Orchestra of les Terres de Lleida or the Illa de Menorca Orchestra, among other formations, which has allowed him to work under the baton of Salvador. Brotons, Edmon Colomer, Alfons Reverté, Jan Cober, Franz-Paul Decker or James Judd.

Since 2009 he has been a clarinet and alto clarinet teacher for the Municipal Band of Barcelona.

 

In addition, he has a degree in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona.
